Full description The IMOS Ships of Opportunity - Sensors on Temperate Merchant Vessels Sub-Facility maintains an autonomous marine monitoring system on the Spirit of Tasmania I vessel to monitor long-term climate change indicators and measures of ecosystem health in Bass Strait surface waters and coastal waters of Victoria and Tasmania.

Australia’s Integrated Marine Observing System (IMOS) is enabled by the National Collaborative Research Infrastructure Strategy (NCRIS). It is operated by a consortium of institutions as an unincorporated joint venture, with the University of Tasmania as Lead Agent.
