Brief description
This dataset contains Sea Surface Temperature (SST) underway observations collected on trips of a merchant vessel (MV Highland Chief - VROB) between south-east of Australia (Melbourne) and Papua New Guinea, including New Zealand, New Caledonia and Solomon Islands. The data have been quality controlled by the Bureau of Meteorology. Enhancement of Measurements on Ships of Opportunity (SOOP)-Sea Surface Temperature (SST) aims to supply near real-time SST data (within 24 hours) from SOOPs and research vessels in the Australian region.Notes
CreditAustralia’s Integrated Marine Observing System (IMOS) is enabled by the National Collaborative Research Infrastructure Strategy (NCRIS). It is operated by a consortium of institutions as an unincorporated joint venture, with the University of Tasmania as Lead Agent.
