The Water Quality Meters (WQMs) collect time series of physical and 'biogeochemical' data: temperature, pressure, salinity, conductivity, depth, dissolved oxygen, chlorophyll, turbidity and fluorescence. The WQMs and some NXIC CTDs at one or more depths collect bursting data and data from the bursts have been cleaned and averaged to create data products. The series of National Reference Stations (NRS) and several regional stations from the Queensland and Northern Australia and New South Wales ANMN sub-facilities contribute data to produce the burst averaged data products presented here. The data array in this file has been created by binning (averaging) raw burst data. Each array value is the arithmetic mean of a burst. Length and frequency of the underlying bursts are declared in global attributes instrument_burst_duration and instrument_burst_interval respectively. Out-of-water data excised before binning. Points flagged by IMOS QC as 3 or 4 are excluded from the burst average: includes data values outside of a valid range, data depth outside of a valid range, points with a high rate of change test result, data values in a series of consecutive identical values whose length exceeds a maximum. Burst means calculated from remaining points (IMOS QC flags 0,1,2). Any bursts with no remaining good points after exclusions are assigned FillValue (see variable attributes for value of FillValue). For Maria Island salinity, data values with a rate of change test result more extreme than the 99.9th percentile of rate of change test values (after taking into account time of year and depth) are also removed. The time value is assigned the point half-way between the start and end points of the raw burst.&rft.creator=Integrated Marine Observing System (IMOS) &rft.date=2013&rft.coverage=115,-33 115,-31 116,-31 116,-33&rft.coverage=130,-12.999999999999986 130,-12 131,-12 131,-12.999999999999986&rft.coverage=128,-14 128,-12.999999999999986 129,-12.999999999999986 129,-14&rft.coverage=145,-14.999999999999986 145,-14 146,-14 146,-14.999999999999986&rft.coverage=147,-20 147,-18 148,-18 148,-20&rft.coverage=116,-21.000000000000014 116,-20 116.99999999999999,-20 116.99999999999999,-21.000000000000014&rft.coverage=113,-22 113,-21.000000000000014 114,-21.000000000000014 114,-22&rft.coverage=151,-24 151,-22 152,-22 152,-23.000000000000014 153,-23.000000000000014 153,-24&rft.coverage=153,-28 153,-27 154,-27 154,-28&rft.coverage=137,-34 137,-33 138,-33 138,-34&rft.coverage=135,-37 135,-35.00000000000001 134,-35.00000000000001 134,-34 136,-34 136,-35.00000000000001 137,-35.00000000000001 137,-37&rft.coverage=151,-35.00000000000001 151,-33 152,-33 152,-35.00000000000001&rft.coverage=121,-34 121,-33 122,-33 122,-34&rft.coverage=141,-39 141,-37.99999999999999 142,-37.99999999999999 142,-39&rft.coverage=148,-42.999999999999986 148,-42.00000000000001 149,-42.00000000000001 149,-42.999999999999986&rft_rights=Creative Commons Attribution 4.0 International License http://creativecommons.org/licenses/by/4.0&rft_subject=oceans&rft_subject=CONDUCTIVITY&rft_subject=EARTH SCIENCE&rft_subject=OCEANS&rft_subject=SALINITY/DENSITY&rft_subject=WATER TEMPERATURE&rft_subject=OCEAN TEMPERATURE&rft_subject=WATER DEPTH&rft_subject=BATHYMETRY/SEAFLOOR TOPOGRAPHY&rft_subject=FLUORESCENCE&rft_subject=OCEAN OPTICS&rft_subject=OXYGEN&rft_subject=OCEAN CHEMISTRY&rft_subject=TURBIDITY&rft_subject=NUTRIENTS&rft_subject=Buoys | Moored Buoys&rft_subject=Fluorometers&rft_subject=CTD (Conductivity-Temperature-Depth Profilers)&rft_subject=Slope Mooring&rft_subject=Shelf Mooring&rft_subject=Global / Oceans | Indian Ocean&rft_subject=Marine Features (Australia) | Great Australian Bight, SA/WA&rft_subject=Global / Oceans | Pacific Ocean&rft_subject=Regional Seas | Coral Sea&rft_subject=Regional Seas | Tasman Sea&rft_subject=Regional Seas | Timor Sea&rft_subject=Countries | Australia&rft_subject=States, Territories (Australia) | Western Australia&rft_subject=States, Territories (Australia) | Tasmania&rft_subject=States, Territories (Australia) | South Australia&rft_subject=States, Territories (Australia) | New South Wales&rft_subject=States, Territories (Australia) | Queensland&rft_subject=States, Territories (Australia) | Northern Territory&rft_subject=Marine Features (Australia) | Maria Island, TAS&rft_subject=Marine Features (Australia) | Kangaroo Island, SA&rft_subject=Marine Features (Australia) | North Stradbroke Island, QLD&rft_subject=Coastal Cities / Towns (Australia) | Sydney, NSW&rft_subject=Marine Features (Australia) | Great Barrier Reef, QLD&rft_subject=Marine Features (Australia) | Ningaloo Marine Park, WA&rft_subject=Coastal Cities / Towns (Australia) | Darwin, NT&rft_subject=Coastal Cities / Towns (Australia) | Perth, WA&rft_subject=Marine Features (Australia) | Rottnest Island, WA&rft_subject=Coastal Cities / Towns (Australia) | Esperance, WA&rft_subject=mooring&rft_subject=Temperature of the water body&rft_subject=Concentration of inferred chlorophyll from relative fluorescence per unit volume of the water body&rft_subject=Electrical conductivity of the water body&rft_subject=Practical salinity of the water body&rft_subject=Concentration of oxygen {O2} per unit volume of the water body&rft_subject=Turbidity of the water body&rft_subject=Concentration of oxygen {O2} per unit mass of the water body&rft_subject=Pressure (measured variable) in the water body exerted by overlying sea water and any medium above it&rft_subject=Pressure (measured variable) in the water body exerted by overlying sea water only&rft_subject=Fluorescence of the water body&rft_subject=National Reference Stations Sub-Facility, Integrated Marine Observing System (IMOS)&rft_subject=New South Wales Moorings Sub-Facility, Integrated Marine Observing System (IMOS)&rft_subject=Queensland and Northern Australia Moorings Sub-Facility, Integrated Marine Observing System (IMOS)&rft_subject=Southern Australia Moorings Sub-Facility, Integrated Marine Observing System (IMOS)&rft_subject=Western Australia Moorings Sub-Facility, Integrated Marine Observing System (IMOS)&rft.type=dataset&rft.language=English Access the data

Brief description

The Australian National Mooring Network Facility is a series of national reference stations and regional moorings designed to monitor particular oceanographic phenomena in Australian coastal ocean waters. The series of National Reference Stations (NRS) and several regional stations from the "Queensland and Northern Australia" and "New South Wales" ANMN sub-facilities contribute data to produce the burst averaged data products presented here.

Lineage

The time value is assigned the point half-way between the start and end points of the raw burst.
