The dataset contains temperature, salinity and biological parameters like for example dissolved oxygen and turbidity data measured by a Seaglider in the region of Maria Island (Tasmania).

The Australian National Facility for Ocean Gliders (ANFOG) located at the University of Western Australia manages 5 Seagliders to monitor the boundary currents surroundings Australia.

The Seaglider "SG154" was deployed on the 13th of february 2009 east of Maria Island, Tasmania. This was the first extended sea glider deployment in the southern hemisphere.
A team from CSIRO successfully recovered the seaglider on the 14th of april 2009, about 16 nautical miles east northeast of Pirates bay, Tasmania.

During the 60 days of its deployment and the 1500 kilometre voyage, the seaglider performed around 430 dives.
