Brief description Ischaemic stroke, resulting from an obstructive clot, comprised approximately 85% of all strokes. There are several new therapies including the clot-busting drug, and clot retrieval (ECR) for large clots . However, only a small subset of patients are eligible for these therapies. We have demonstrated that human amnionic stem cell can reduce stroke size in animal experiments. We thus propose a Phase 1 dose escalation trial to assess the safety of allogeneic stem cell in stroke patients.
