Brief description

## **Abstract**

The dataset was derived by the Bioregional Assessment Programme from multiple source datasets. The source datasets are identified in the Lineage field in this metadata statement. The processes undertaken to produce this derived dataset are described in the History field in this metadata statement.

The dataset consists of shapefiles of historical mine foot prints for the Hunter bioregion derived from Landsat imagery. Mine boundaries were digitised through interpretation of the disturbed land in the vicinity of known coal mines. A historical sequence using multiple images for selected years was built to represent the changing mine foot prints.

## **Dataset History**

Mine boundaries were digitised through interpretation of the disturbed land in the vicinity of known coal mines. A historical sequence using multiple images for selected years was built to represent the changing mine foot prints.
