Brief description

## **Abstract**

The dataset was derived by the Bioregional Assessment Programme from multiple datasets. The source dataset is identified in the Lineage field in this metadata statement. The processes undertaken to produce this derived dataset are described in the History field in this metadata statement.

This resource contains the names and location of deep wells used to construct the geological model, built for the Hunter subregion of the Bioregional Assessment Programme. It includes a shapefile of point locations for the chosen wells and is attributed with the drill hole data relating to latitude, longitude, licencee, operator, depth, dates, reports etc., with a formatted Site_ID field added. The formatted site ID comes from the database table included in the dataset and has been formatted to produce a fixed width (6 digit) number from integer values (e.g. 32 = 000032)

## **Purpose**

Building of a 3D geological model with stratigraphy and lithology.

## **Dataset History**

This resource was created from information on the depth, lithology and stratigraphy of well data located within the Hunter Deep Well Completion Reports (GUID: f2df86d5-6749-48c7-a445-d60067109f08) and South Sydney Deep Well Completion Reports (GUID: dbeba812-8f42-4377-a178-608deaf82811). Wells with relevant lithogical data within the Hunter subregion and the adjacent areas within the South Sydney Basin were selected to define the depth and thickness of geological layers within the model. A shapefile of point locations for the chosen wells was created and attributed with the drill hole data relating to latitude, longitude, licencee, operator, depth, dates, reports etc., with a formatted Site_ID field added. The formatted site ID comes from the database table included in the dataset and has been formatted in excel to produce a fixed width (6 digit) number from integer values (e.g. 32 = 000032).
