Days were chosen haphazardly but all had low tides less than 0.70 m above MLLW, with a tidal range of about 2.1 m. To determine whether the number of people varied with day-type, the days were grouped according to whether they fell during school holidays (including Easter) or term times and whether they were weekdays or on weekends. Weekends included any public holidays whether or not those holidays fell on actual weekends. Brief description
