Full description

Three stygofauna taxa were examined how they responded to groundwater drawdown under different sedimentary environments.

Treatments:

Stygofauna taxa - Amphipoda, Harpacticoid and Cyclopoida

Drawdown rates - Fast 400 cm/day, medium 100 cm/day, slow 40 cm/day, very slow 4 cm/day and control no flow.

Sedimentary environments - Coarse gravel, fine gravel, coarse sand, medium sand and fine sand.

Upon completion of drawdown experiments, the location of stygofauna with columns were counted by separating columns into segments (15-12 cm (top), 12-9 cm, 9-6 cm, 6-3 cm and 3-0 cm (bottom), and counting under a microscope.

See methods.txt file for more detailed methods.
