The focus of this project is to demonstrate the link between availability of developable land and space and affordable housing development. This requires a rigorous analysis of residential land development potential that is essentially linked to datasets such as land value and capital improved value information.

 The software developed will include analytical tools and online resources to help local and state governments consider the longer-term impacts of land administration, land supply, and housing affordability in the short and long-term this includes a web mapping application that dynamically generates a Residential Development Potential Index for the North West Metropolitan Region of Melbourne.
