[Cite as https://purl.org/au-research/grants/nhmrc/GNT1163358]Brief description Food poisoning affects 1 in 4 Australians every year. In this proposal, we will explore the ability of toxins produced by a foodborne bacterium to trigger activation of a protective response in the cell. These results could lead to new ways to neutralise the harmfulness of the pathogen and/or boost the ability of the cell to mount a more effective response to eradicate the infection.
