Horsham Regional Art Gallery opened in 1973 occupying a single room within the Horsham Public Library and later moved to 80 Wilson Street, Horsham.

The Gallery operations are managed by a Special Committee of the Horsham Rural City Council [VA 3734] and relies largely on Federal and State funding and donations.

The Gallery specialises in Australian historic, contemporary and traditional art and photography and boasts a robust exhibition programme.

Some noteworthy early acquisitions include:
* Carol Jerrems', Vale Street; and
* Max Dupain's, Meat Queue.
