Brief description

These datasets contain information about current and former government schools in NSW since 1848. \r\n\r\n**Data notes:**\r\n\r\n* Schools that operated as various types of schools have multiple entries.\r\n\r\n* Schools with more than one name are listed under the most recent name of the school. \r\n\r\n* The name of each school starts with the main part of their name. Words like The, or Upper, or North are treated as subsidiary.\r\n\r\n* Schools with the same name are distinguished by numbers. They are numbered according to the date at which the school first used the name. \r\n\r\n* An entry for a half-time school generally identifies a partner schools under its latest name.\r\n\r\n* This dataset may not include the latest changes in the status of schools. \r\n\r\n* For further information about this dataset, please refer to the glossary of school types and database facts from the history of government schools website . \r\n\r\n**Data source:**\r\n\r\n* Centre for Education Statistics and Evaluation.
