Brief description

Data on the economic value derived from South East Queensland’s waterways, plus return on investment for restoration actions.

Notes

Two main indicators; 1. Economic value of ecosystem services; a) value of waterways for water consumption - cost of drinking water, reduction in value of treatment with a healthy waterway b) waste dissimulation - how much waterways can dissimulate nutrients. Avoided cost of nutrient treatment. c) value of waterborne recreation - not fishing. Number of visits, relationship between ecosystem condition over time with number of visits. d) recreation and commercial fishing - value of waterways c) sedimentation - the value of waterways in mitigating sedimentation and flood risk. 2. Aligned investment; how much is invested in waterway restoration and protection; how much money spent in catchment area
