Brief description

One of the key conditions of the biodiversity certification of the State Environmental Planning Policy (Sydney Region Growth Centres) 2006 is that 2,000 hectares of existing native vegetation (ENV) is protected in the North West and South West Growth Centres. The Growth Centres ENV is referenced in the definition for ENV in the biodiversity certification relevant biodiversity measures and is used in the planning for development in the North West and South Growth Centres. Monitoring of clearing of ENV is undertaken annually by the Department of Planning and Infrastructure. The layers are updated each year based on analysis of annually captured imagery which indicates vegetation clearing that has occurred. VIS_ID 4112
