The Department of Agriculture has invested in the application of satellite imagery to monitor ground cover for Australia. This is a collaborative partnership with CSIRO, the Terrestrial Ecosystem Research Network (TERN), all states and the Northern Territory. This data update includes maps and charts of median bare soil, green and non-green vegetation for Australia from 2000 to 2014 by month, season and year. Brief description

Ground cover monitoring for Australia data was updated on the MONITOR website October 2014 (http://www.agriculture.gov.au/abares/monitor/Pages/default.aspx). The Department of Agriculture has invested in the application of satellite imagery to monitor ground cover for Australia. This is a collaborative partnership with CSIRO, the Terrestrial Ecosystem Research Network (TERN), all states and the Northern Territory. This data update includes maps and charts of median bare soil, green and non-green vegetation for Australia from 2000 to 2014 by month, season and year.
