Gridded area of development and non-development related disturbances

Brief description

## **Abstract**
The dataset was compiled by the Geological and Bioregional Assessment Program from source data referenced within the dataset and/or metadata. This dataset shows the percentage of 25 ha pixels impacted by development and non-development related disturbances. All disturbance layers were processed using a priority layering system to prevent double accounting.

## **History**
Cooper:
– Seismic disturbance includes both 2D and 3D surveys.\t\t\t\t\t\t
– All seismic lines older than 8 years were assumed to have recovered, except for those in the Gibber geomorphology (sedimentary hills and ranges landscape class).\t\t\t\t\t\t
– Other development related disturbance includes borrow pits, roads, pipelines and well pads.
– Non-development related disturbance includes aircraft facilities, bores, buildings, homesteads, mines, wells, recreation areas, reservoirs, heritage sites, storage and water tanks, vertical obstructions (e.g. towers and aerials), wind pumps and stockyards.\t\t\t\t\t
– All disturbance layers were processed using a priority layering system to prevent double accounting. Non-development related disturbances were assigned the highest level of priority, on the assumption that these features would exist in the absence of development activity. Other development related disturbances were assigned the next level of priority, followed by seismic survey disturbance.\t\t\t

Beetaloo:
– Development related disturbance includes roads, rails and pipelines buffered to a total width of 10 m, and scar lines (e.g. seismic surveys) buffered to a total of 5 m.\t\t\t\t\t
– Non-development related disturbance includes fencelines and stockroutes buffered to a total width of 10 m, in addition to the features present in the 'Beetaloo GBA region non-development disturbance dataset', https://data.gov.au/data/dataset/6b4c7c0d-5bb9-4c2a-98b8-e44803fe38a2.
