Brief description

**About National Greenhouse and Energy Reporting (NGER) Scheme:**

In 2007 Australia introduced a single, national framework for corporations to report on greenhouse gas emissions, energy use and energy production. That framework, known as the National Greenhouse and Energy Reporting (NGER) Scheme, operates under the *National Greenhouse and Energy Reporting Act 2007.*

Corporations registered under the Act 2007 (the NGER Act) are obliged to report greenhouse gas emissions, energy production and energy consumption data to the Clean Energy Regulator.
By 28 February each year the Clean Energy Regulator must publish some of the data reported under the NGER Act for the previous reporting (financial) year.
