Brief description

The Green Point Creek system has been divided into component areas for application of a floodplain
management plan. The component areas, illustrated on Figure 13, cover:

* Tourmaline Avenue Floodway Area;
* Tourmaline Avenue - Flood-Liable Developed Area;
* Crystal Avenue Floodway;
* Tourmaline Avenue Culvert Area - currently flood-liable; and
* Diamond - Tourmaline Avenue - Flood-Liable Developed Area.

The specific points applied in each of the above areas involve:

* land use controls;
* building development controls;
* limited channel erosion protection under government funding;
* the bulk of channel erosion protection by land owner finance; and
* structural works, as outlined above with Tourmaline Avenue culvert replacement,
floodplain restoration and acquisition of one house.
