Grade of pedality (soil pedal structure) is estimated as single grain (1), massive (2), weak (3), moderate (4), or strong (5). Pedality influences water flow and transport within soils and may influence susceptibility to erosion (Onweremadu et al. 2007; Williams 1992). Derived from McKenzie et al. (2000). This classification does not necessarily reflect an ordered property of the soil. See HPEDALITY for a hydrological scoring of pedality.
