This series, from the Premiers Library, consists of copies of speeches given by the Governor of Victoria to Parliament. It would seem that the records in this series were collected from publications such as Minutes of the Proceedings of the Legislative Council and the Votes and Proceedings of the Legislative Assembly and pasted into scrap books.

The contents of this series range from 1874 to 1970. It was decided to register the series date range as ?1883-1970 (the Premiers Office came into being in 1883), although it is unlikely that this series was created in 1883 and the recordkeeping process continued until 1970. It is no longer possible to ascertain the exact series date range.
