The Wollondilly and Mulwaree Rivers Flood study was completed in 2016 by WMA Water. Goulburn has experienced a number of major flood events in recent years and this revised flood study has included the data from these more recent flood events. The study also completed a flood assessment for a range of design storms under existing conditions.

As part of the process, Council established a Floodplain Risk Management Working Party. The Working Party was the focus and forum for discussion on flood related technical, social, economic, environment and cultural issues.
