Full description

It appears that a Fire Brigade at Gosford in the Erina Shire existed from 1934 as a volunteer fire fighting company of ten volunteers with fire appliances. (1) Accommodation for the fire appliances at Gosford was made available by the Council at the rear of the Electric Light Station in Watt Street, Gosford from 1 January 1935. (2) In 1938 land in William Street was purchased by the Board of Fire Commissioners as a site for the fire station. A cottage situated on the land was demolished, and portion at the rear of site was sold for drainage purposes. (3) The new Fire station was erected on the land in 1939. (4) In 2000 the address of the Gosford Fire Station was 12 Brougham Street, East Gosford. (5) FOOTNOTES:
