Brief description Parkinson's disease (PD) is a chronic and progressive neurodegenerative disease with no cures or effective treatments. We know where in the brain PD begins but how it spreads to affect more and more cells is unknown. This lack of understanding has been a barrier to treatment development. In this project we will use new models that will enable unprecedented insight into this process of disease spreading, and in doing so will reveal new targets for therapeutic development.
