Gilbert Howard Vasey worked with the New South Wales Main Roads Board from 1927 to 1933 and from 1933 to 1971 was Lecturer, Senior Lecturer and Reader in Agricultural Engineering at the University of Melbourne.
Gilbert Vasey attended the University of Melbourne from 1923 to 1926. After graduating he was employed by the NSW Main Roads Board until 1933 when he was appointed Lecturer in Agricultural Engineering at Melbourne University. Vasey later became Senior Lecturer and Reader and retired in 1971. From 1936 he was a member and subsequently Chairman of committees of the Standards Association of Australia concerned with agricultural machinery, and was later officer-in-charge of tractor testing. Gilbert Vasey died on 26 November 1986.
