Geology (Lithology) 1:2 500 000 Scale

Brief description

The ASRIS Lithology dataset presents lithology (as soil parent material) in 23
classes interpreted from geological information in the source datasets.The
lithology classes were chosen as being of signficance for soil formation and
relate mainly to chemical composition. It is designed for use at a scale of
1:250,000 to 1:1 million.Data are presented as a grid with cells 0.0025
degrees of latitude and longitude.The digital map data is provided in
geographical coordinates based on the World Geodetic System 1984 (WGS84)
datum. This raster data set has a grid resolution of 0.001
degrees(approximately equivalent to 1.1 km).The data set is a product of the
National Land and Water Resources Audit (NLWRA) as a base dataset.
