The National Survey Report data results from the Gay Community Periodic Surveys, cross-sectional surveys of gay and other homosexually active men routinely conducted in Adelaide, Canberra, Melbourne, Queensland (Brisbane, Cairns and the Gold Coast), Perth and Sydney. Data were collected on types of sexual relationships and number of partners, anal and oral intercourse, unprotected anal intercourse, testing for HIV and other STIs, HIV serostatus, recreational drug use, and demographic characteristics such as sexual identity and age. Sample Population: Gay and homosexually-active men from Adelaide, Canberra, Melbourne, Queensland (Brisbane, Cairns and the Gold Coast), Perth and Sydney. Method of Data Collection: Self-completion. Kind of Data: Survey.Sampling Procedures: Men were recruited through gay community events, gay venues and sexual health clinics.
