The Canberra Gay Community Periodic Survey is a repeated cross-sectional survey of gay and homosexually active men recruited through gay community sites in Canberra. The major aim of the survey was to provide data on sexual practices related to the transmission of HIV and other sexually transmissible infections (STIs) among gay and homosexually active men. The 2006 survey was the third gay community periodic survey to be conducted in Canberra. This survey was similar to the previous surveys in that it was conducted at the same time of the year and employed the same recruitment strategies. Kind of Data: Survey data. Time Dimensions: Repeated cross-sectional study. Sample Population: 282 gay and homosexually-active men from Canberra. Sampling Procedures: Participants were recruited at SpringOUT Festival Fair Day, and two gay community venues. 389 men were asked to complete the survey and 282 did so.
