The fourth Adelaide Gay Community Periodic Survey is a cross-sectional survey of gay and homosexually active men recruited through a range of gay community sites in Adelaide. Data were collected on anal intercourse and oral sex, the use of condoms, the nature of sexual relationships, HIV testing practice and serostatus, aspects of social attachment to gay community, recreational drug use, and a range of demographic items including sexual identity, age, education, occupation and ethnicity. Additional questions were included in the 2003 survey to address the issues of using the internet to find sex partners, sexual health testing, drug use and injecting drug use. Sampling Procedures: Respondents were recruited through six sites in Adelaide as well as at a large public gay community event, Picnic in the Park. Time Dimensions: Repeated cross-sectional study. Method of Data Collection: Self-completion. Sample Population: 1127 men were asked to complete the questionnaire and 834 did so. This represented a sound response rate of 74%.
