Full description

An area of 1,300 acres at Garawarra in the Parish of Bulgo, County of Cumberland was dedicated for public recreation on 17 August 1934. (1) A Trust was appointed to administer the public recreation ground at Garawarra, and known as Garawarra Park, on 25 January, 1935. The Trust comprised - The Hon. H W Whiddon, MLC; Messrs. W F L Bailey, E J Ryan, A H Fackender, J V Turner, W J H Roots and G F Allman. (2) The land within Garawarra Park was dedicated in four parts - 1300 acres on 17 August 1934; an area of 12 acres on 18 October 1935; an area of 13 acres 1 rood on 8 May 1936 and an area of 140 acres on 4 November 1938. (3) The Garawarra Park Trust held its last meeting on 29 September 1967. Garawarra Park was transferred to The Royal National Park under the terms of the National Parks and Wildlife Act 1967 (Act No. 35, 1967). (4) Endnotes
