Brief description Small heat shock proteins: front-line defenders and therapeutic targets. Small heat-shock chaperone proteins play a key role as front line defenders against protein aggregation, a process linked to ageing and disease. This project spans fields from protein chemistry to cell biology to generate an unprecedented insight into the links between the structure, function and therapeutic potential of these chaperone proteins.
