Brief description Our aim is better understand the function of a host cell protein that is required for the replication of HIV-1, hepatitis C, Japanese encephalitis virus, West Nile virus and dengue virus. This host cell protein is a proven druggable target to limit viral infection, and yet we understand little of how it works. Our results will inform the development of novel broad-spectrum antiviral therapeutics.
