Full description

This dataset contains the processed Expendable Bathythermograph (XBT) data collected on Franklin voyage FR 06/99. The voyage took place in the Bay of Bengal during September 1999. This dataset has been processed and is archived within the CSIRO Marine and Atmospheric Research Data Centre in Hobart. Additional information regarding this dataset is contained in the cruise report for this voyage and/or the data processing report (as available). XBT data typically comprises temperature and depth readings relayed to the surface at intervals of 0.1 seconds as the probe passes through the top few hundred metres of the ocean.
