Brief description Circular RNA molecules were recently found to be present in human cells, but their functions are largely unknown. We have discovered that the production of circular RNAs is changed during the differentiation process known as epithelial to mesenchymal transition, which is linked to cancer metastasis. We will investigate the functions of circRNAs, how their formation is controlled, and whether the circRNAs have a role in cancer progression.
