Film Festivals Collection

Full description

This is a collection of film festival materials from all over the world that are held at the AFI Research Collection (AFIRC). These film festival related materials have been collected by the AFIRC due to its relationship with the Australian Film Institute (AFI) and other Australian festivals such as the Melbourne Film Festival (MIFF). This relationship meant that whenever delegates from the AFI or from MIFF would visit international festivals, they would donate the film festival catalogs to the AFIRC. The collection has grown due to donations from AFIRC stakeholders (eg. film critics and researchers) as well as direct donations from the film festivals themselves. The collection holds catalogues from a wide variety of film festivals worldwide, both large (Cannes, Berlin, Sundance) and small. It also includes numerous clippings files that have been collected by the AFIRC about the film festivals and other materials written about film festivals worldwide.
