Full description

This data is provided in support of a paper titled 'Rheological Controls on Asperity Weakening During Earthquake Slip'. Experiments were undertaken using a Paterson gas medium triaxial deformation apparatus. This apparatus has an internal load cell and furnace. Displacement data is collected using an LVDT and a laser interferometer. Starting material is Fontainebleau Sandstone. Mechanical data has been corrected for elastic response of apparatus, the strength component of the jacket and the change in contact area.
