Brief description Up to 400,000 patients died needlessly each year in the USA hospitals and many suffered from unexpected cardiac arrests. The concept of rapid response system (RRS) has been proposed to reduce unexpected cardiac arrests and related mortality. The Clinical Excellence Commission implemented a RRS under a program called Between the Flags with a specific emergency department module. The current study aims to evaluate the impact of such program on the reduction of cardiac arrests and unexpected death.
