Full description

The series is an estray donated by the Light Railway Research Society of Australia to the Public Record Office Victoria. This series was part of the collection of Mr J.L.N. Jack Southern, a railway historian.

The series contains a file of newspaper cuttings from The Age, The Argus, Sydney Morning Herald and The Daily Telegraph, from 20 April 1908 to 26 May 1908 covering the aftermath of the Sunshine railway collision of 20 April 1908.

Also included is:
- V R blueprint showing the actual composition of the trains as appeared before and after the smash, signed by A.E. Smith, who eventually became the Chief Mechanical Engineer and designer of several eminent steam locomotive classes many years later.
