Brief description Diabetes imposes a significant health and economic burden on Australia. This burden is set to increase as the population becomes older and risk factors for diabetes, such as obesity, become more common. The main aims of the proposed project are: 1. To develop computer-based models that will predict future patterns of diabetes and its complications in Australia. 2. To use these models to determine effective and cost-effective ways to reduce the future burden of diabetes in Australia.
