Brief description

EPA is the primary environmental regulator for New South Wales. Its purpose is to improve environmental performance and waste management

EPA works with the community, business, industry and government to maintain a balance between protecting the environment, managing competing demands on the environment and supporting sustainable growth.

EPA provides information and guidance about a broad range of environmental issues and activities. It engages with the community and uses social research to inform priorities, policies and programs. It publishes scientific research and monitors trends in the state of the environment, and offers advice and incentives to help business and industry improve their environmental performance.
