Brief description The project was started as Patrick\'s PhD work at the Department of Zoology, the University of Melbourne in 2003 and is still ongoing. This project estimates the brain size in as many species of Anseriformes as possible to investigate the evolution of brain size in the group by using a comparative approach. This research was supported by funding from Victoria University Fellowship, the Department of Zoology and the Faculty of Science of the University of Melbourne, the David Hay Scholarship, le Fonds québécois de la recherche sur la nature et les technologies, the Academy of Natural Sciences, Philadelphia, the Field Museum of Natural History and the American Museum of Natural History.
