Brief description A simple way to prevent and treat people suffering from diabetic retinopathy, a terrible eye disease resulting from diabetes, is to identify the disease early. This research will screen people with diabetes who do not think they have diabetic retinopathy or who have not had an eye examination in the last 2 years when attending a pathology centre for their diabetes-related tests. The study will follow participants over 4 years to look at subsequent treatment and compliance with eye examination.
