East Gippsland Region Water Authority

Full description

The Orbost (VA 2248), Mitchell (VA 2559), Tambo (VA 5681) and Mallacoota (VA 2676) Water Boards were merged to form the East Gippsland Region Water Authority (VA 4237). The Authority dates from 1 January 1995.

Non-Metropolitan Urban Water Authorities:
- program of amalgamation and structural reform (?1992 -?1997) of existing authorities under the auspices of the Office of Water Reform (later the Water Bureau established as a division in the former Department Conservation and Natural Resources (DNRE) (VA 3097)
- authorities are responsible for providing water supply and sewerage services to non-metropolitan urban areas.

• Portland Coast Region Water Authority (VA 4242)
• South Gippsland Region Water Authority (VA 4239)
• South West Water Authority (VA 3753)
• Western Region Water Authority (VA 4245)
• Westernport Region Water Authority (VA 4238).
