[Cite as https://purl.org/au-research/grants/nhmrc/GNT1162251]Brief description Survival rates following heart attack have dramatically improved over the last 30 years due to improvements in treatment and care, but the survivors are at very high risk of developing heart failure. We found that inflammation mechanism and an immune cell subset called gamma-delta T cells play an important role in heart failure following heart attack. Our study will investigate the precise mechanism how these cells contribute to heart failure in patients after heart attack.
