Drung Drung South State School No. 4179 opened on 13 January 1924.

The primary school was required after several families moved into what was the Ballyglunin Park Estate east of Horsham, a soldier settlement area. The school opened with 32 students enrolled.

The school was located on the Western Highway.

Drung Drung South Primary School is now closed.
