Brief description

Since 2014, Petteri has been a research professor responsible for the polar climate modelling at the Finnish Meteorological Institute. He is particularly interested in the role of sea ice in the climate system and its links to mid-latitudes. From 2010 to 2013, Petteri was a sea-ice modeller in the ACCESS climate model development team and worked at the CSIRO Marine & Atmospheric Research. The team completed a new set of model experiments, which were submitted to the IPCC CMIP5 model archive. From 2007 to 2010, Petteri explored interactions between small-scale cyclones and sea ice and their role in the Southern Ocean climate system working at Monash University. In 2005-2007 he contributed to the analysis of IPCC global climate system model simulations.
