Dr Danaia is currently the Lecturer and Transition Coordinator in the School of Teacher Education at Charles Sturt University.
Her research focuses on science education and spans primary, secondary and pre-service teacher education. She has had experience teaching in schools in both Australia and the United Kingdom.
She has carried out research on science and technology education, and astronomy education in both primary and secondary schools, and in preservice teacher education. From 2009 until 2012 Dr Danaia was a Post-Doctoral Fellow - Industry on the Australian Research Council Linkage Grant Space to Grow: The Faulkes Telescopes and improving science engagement in schools. Her involvement in this project continues.
She is currently involved in Our Solar Siblings and Indigeneous Sky Stories projects.
