Dani was awarded her BSc from the University of New England in 2003, BSc(Hons) from Macquarie University in 2005 and PhD from Macquarie University in 2010. She worked as an Associate Lecturer at Macquarie University 2009-2010 and at the University of Newcastle during late 2010. Dani started at Charles Sturt University in February 2011 on the Bathurst Campus in the School of Psychology.

Her broad research interests are in comparative cognition and evolutionary human psychology. Specific research projects are currently underway examining human attractiveness and sexual behavour; adaptations of perception and attention systems to processing ecologically relevant stimuli and relationships between spatial cognition and foraging ecology in Australian birds.
