Brief description The body needs to react if blood sugar levels become abnormally low in order to prevent harmful life-threatening consequences. While hormonal cues from the periphery inform the brain about blood sugar levels, the brain is the main player to initiate counterregulation. The neuronal circuit how the brain senses glucose and initiates regulatory responses is unknown and will be the topic of this proposal.
