Two separate files are included here.

File 1 contains a NEXUS formatted DNA sequence alignment of unique haplotypes for 214bp of mtDNA control region sequences from 118 previously published sequences (Bergner et al. 2016; Dussex et al. 2018; Seersholm et al. 2018) and three Macleay Museum specimens.

File 2 containes a NEXUS formatted DNA sequence alignment of 118 published kakapo mtDNA genomes and 9 mtDNA genomes from Macleay Museum kakapo specimens.

Both files includes a TRAITS block for analysis in PopArt
